The company implements projects for agriculture production and export expansion. The ongoing
projects are the following: 1) Investment projects for high tech greenhouse construction and
development. 2) Investment projects for modern tunnel greenhouse construction and development for
high value crops. 3) Investment project for establishment of intensive vinayards of seedless grapes
4) Development of umbrella brand and value chain of Armenian harvest. 5) Pilot project for
restoration of endemic fish population ofLake Sevan
Cooperation proposal
AHPC has developed an investment program on Greenhouse Construction and Development, which
assumes to build500 ha state-of-the-art greenhouses in 8-10 different zones in Armenia
phase of the program is already started and it assumes to build50 ha greenhouses on 70 ha land
area in the Vicinity of Yerevan Termo Power Plant. The RA Government has approved the
Greenhouse Development program and assigned AHPC as a program manager. AHPC carries out
works to develop and implement the program of agricultural production and export expansion. To
realize the program it is necessary to construct500 ha high tech heating greenhouses in different 8-
10 zones of the country and to construct and develop 1500-2000 ha tunnel type of greenhouses, as
well as to organize agricultural production on8000 ha open field. It is anticipated that on both
protected and covered fields in total 25 types of crops will be cultivated.
Selection of the area in the vicinity of Yerevan TPP as greenhouse construction site was conditioned
by availability of the thermal resources of Thermo-Power Plant which will decrease heating costs by
up to 40%. AHPC developed a model business plan for greenhouse construction and development,
which assumes that land plots will be alienated to the investors through installment sales in one year
by 17 USD per sqm which is considerably below market prices. This value includes also the costs of
main infrastructures, which will be built centralized for high pressure steam, electric energy, water,
gas supply and water discharge. The total investments for high tech greenhouse construction in the
above mentioned district is about 100-150 USD, which includes also the costs of infrastructures and
land. Though the business plan is developed for6 ha land area, the investors can choose the area
size for greenhouse construction by their own. Within the frames of the project investors will be able
to buy land for 17 USD/sqm. This value includes also the costs of centralized infrastructures for high
pressure steam, electric energy, water, gas supply and water discharge. The payment for land should
be done within a year. Investors should establish a state-of-the-art greenhouse for vegetable
production. The investor personally chooses the supplier of the greenhouse and terms of cooperation.
The project allows both individuals and legal entities to be an investor. The benefit of the investor is
obtaining own greenhouse on own land. A number of international experts has mentioned that climate
conditions ofArmenia
